Minutes from 12/10/09 Meeting of the Parks, Recreation & Trails Committee

 

1.         Meeting Opened -- Meeting was called to order at 7:53 p.m.  In attendance: Tom Bierl, Lawrie Bolger, Zeke Hubbard, Joe Stumpo, Ricki Stumpo.

 

2.         Announcements -- Zeke Hubbard thanked the committee members for their hard work and dedication to the township throughout the past year.

 

3.         Public Comments –  None

 

4.         Old Business

            a.         The minutes from the November meeting were approved and will be forwarded for posting on the website.

            b.         Storm Water Run Off – Bill Haaf will present details of run off at Haines Mill Road / Beversrede to the Supervisors at their 12/14 meeting.

            c.         Committee voted in the following officers and sub-committee chairs for 2010:

                        Chair – Ezekiel Hubbard

                        Vice Chair – Joe Stumpo

                        Sub-Committees:

                                    Trails – Chris Conaway

                                    Founders Day – Chair -- Beverly Bruns

                                                       Vice Chair – Ricki Stumpo

                                    Stream Team – Bill Haaf

                                    Clean Ways – Lawrie Bolger

                       

5.         New Business

            a.         Cannon Hill Trail – Ricki Stumpo reported that the 10 acre parcel closest to the river, with the spec house, has a trail easement that cuts through the middle of the property.  She advised that the trail needs to be marked as surveyed (not as it has been mowed by the township) so that the homeowners are aware of its existence.  Committee agreed to send a letter to the BOS advising that monuments be installed at trail heads.

 

6.         Sub-Committee Reports

            a.         Trails – Tom Bierl reported that he will close on the Trails Feasibility Study by 12/31/09.                        

            b.         Stream Team – Nothing to report.

            c.         Founder’s Day –Ricki Stumpo reported that the committee has secured a new chair, Beverly Bruns; Ricki will serve as Vice-Chair.  Committee cites the need for more volunteers.

            d.         CleanWays – Nothing to report.

 

7.         Meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
