| Board of Supervisors' Meeting
Minutes 8:45 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2004 Supervisor Sellers called the meeting to order at
9:00 a.m. and dispensed with the pledge. Supervisors Brutscher and
Hubbard were in attendance. Bill Harwood, Director of Public Works and
Building Inspector was also in attendance. Open Space Committee: Hubbard reported that the tennis courts were resurfaced last weekend. Harwood said they would reopen the courts on October 13, 2004. Hubbard said the committee meets tonight. CCPC / Vision Partnership Program – Cash Grant Award: The Board reviewed and executed the agreements for the Vision Partnership Grant Agreement. Northbrook Road/Flooding: Hubbard said he had
contacted Representative Barrar and a representative from PennDOT about
the flooding in this area. Barrar’s office arranged a meeting with a
PennDOT official and this issue is being addressed. Hubbard said he would
update the Board at a future date as to the progress of this issue. Road Report: Harwood reported that the storm washouts are being repaired at an approximate cost to the township of $1,000. Courts at Longwood has to repair storm damage to the pond and trails. The developer has resubmitted the legal descriptions on Courts at Longwood. Fenn is going to fax a report on Brandyridge on all unfinished items. Harwood said that Gorman would like to pave and dedicate Taylor’s Run but there are still 5 building lots remaining in this subdivision. The Board discussed this issue and agreed to have Andy Rau review the developer’s agreement and make a recommendation to the Board on how best to handle this issue. Harwood said the County is about to proceed with the improvements and expansion to the Chester County Prison. Harwood said Mark Pevar has not yet installed the trees on Lot #7 in Cannon Hill Drive. Harwood said if the trees were not installed by the end of this week, the township would send another letter to Mr. Pevar. Harwood asked if the township would pay for the installation of six new street trees at Windy Hill. The Board said this cost is a homeowner association responsibility. Harwood reported that Oceanport Industries was the low bidder for the Municipal Cooperative of Southern Chester County for salt, but the salt price has doubled to $52.90 per ton this year. This advertisement to bid was run in the “Daily Local News” on September 13 and 20. Brutsher moved, Hubbard seconded to accept the lowest bidder for salt, Oceanport Industries at $52.90 per ton. Motion carried. Resolution #15 of 2004: Brutscher moved,
Hubbard seconded to accept the Winter Traffic Services 5 –
Year agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of
Transportation dated October 12, 2004. Motion carried.
