New Resource from FEMA – National Risk Index
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announces some new resources that share how communities can be more resilient from floods as they happen more frequently. The National Risk Index is easy to use and provides a means to prioritize resilience efforts by providing an at-a-glance overview of multiple natural hazard risk factors. It is accessible to homeowners or renters or anyone interested in mitigation or understanding natural hazards. You can follow this link to see some of those tools – National Risk Index for Natural Hazards (NRI) | FEMA.gov

Virtual monthly BOS meetings, public comment
The Board Of Supervisors plans to continue virtual meetings for the foreseeable future using GoToMeeting software. Please review Guidance for Remote Meetings for tips on getting the best remote meeting experience.
Public Comment on Non-Agenda Items will occur at the start of meetings, after Announcements and before individual agenda items are discussed. Should you wish to speak on a topic, please forward your comments via e-mail to secretary@pocopson.org by the Wednesday before each meeting (so, by August 19 for the August 24 Board meeting). Also, the Board will ask for comments from attendees after each agenda item that requires Board action.

Barnard House property on Wawaset Road
Many of the windows at the Barnard House have been removed for glazing and painting. Repair/replacement of sills, sashes, jambs and trim is underway and should be completed by spring.
The barn on the property has been disassembled by the Public Works crew. Because some of the barn wood may be incorporated into the design of the new Township building, the Township has no plans yet to sell or otherwise dispose of the salvaged wood.
Minutes from Auditors’ Meeting of 1/7/2020
Per the Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code, the Township Auditors (rather than the Board of Supervisors) determine compensation for the year for supervisors who are also employed by the township. View minutes from the Auditors’ 1/7/2020 meeting.
