Pocopson Township is a small suburban community that does not provide some of the services that are customary in larger municipalities.
Pocopson Does
- Provide fire and emergency services to its residents through two local fire companies. Other local townships have similar arrangements.
- Maintain Township roads, parks and facilities (Public Works Department).
- Provide annual curbside services including chipping, leaf bag pickup, and Christmas tree removal.
Pocopson Does Not
- Maintain a police force. We rely on the services of the State Police.
- Provide trash, water or sewer services. Most residents rely on on-site septic and well water, and trash is collected by private haulers.
